How to choose a Samsung Galaxy Watch on Prime Day

Do you want something completely new or something new to you that’s still fresh out of a box but has an older model number? That’s one of the first things you’ll need to consider.

If you want something really recent and top-of-the-line, you’ll need to compare the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra vs the Galaxy Watch 7. They’re actually fairly similar devices, with the Ultra’s most notable differences being a better battery life and its additional “Quick Button” for easier navigation. The Ultra also has better water resistance, but it’s not exactly a dive watch. There are little quirks here and there, but the products shouldn’t feel too dissimilar if you end up getting the Galaxy Watch 7 over the Ultra because the deal price was just too hard to pass up.

You might also consider getting a previous model of one of the flagships. For example, when we compare the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 6, we find that most things about the Galaxy Watch 7 are at least somewhat better, but the 6 still has its charms and actually has a better overall battery life. To quote our comparison of the two models directly, “the Galaxy Watch 7 technically wins this showdown. After all, it’s the newer model, has a faster processor, and has some new features. But to be brutally honest, none of that is really that exciting.” In other words, it is totally okay to go with the older model this time.

How we chose these Samsung Galaxy Watch Prime Day deals

There are essentially two kinds of deals roundups for Prime Day events. The first, like these Best Buy Prime Day TV deals, looks at broad swathes of the market. For these, we look and compare prices, check reviews, and use our vast experience in the deals writing space to determine what to present and what to ignore.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Prime Day deals are not like that, however. There are only so many models to choose from. Instead, like our coverage of Prime Day AirPods deals, we evaluated the available models, searched for the best deals (on Amazon and elsewhere), and found the best to deliver to you. To help you make a choice in these circumstances, we try to put the prices in context and clearly show the proper value of the device.
