Update 10/24/24: Our coverage of Black Friday 2024 begins now, and we’re already seeing products from all of our favorite brands — Craftsman, DeWalt, Bosch, and Milwaukee — represented. Now is a great time to get a drill/driver combo or even a multiple piece tool set. If you’re planning on doing any DIY projects around the house as the weather has cooled from summer but not yet started to freeze for winter, this is an exciting time to buy a power tool for the job.
Black Friday is quite a while away. In fact, Black Friday is officially starting on November 29. That doesn’t mean, however, that you can’t start buying things now. And, even if you aren’t the type to buy everything early, we really think that power tools should be an exception. Let’s say, for example, that you take part in Black Friday TV deals and decide to mount your new TV. You’ll want a drill/driver for that. Maybe you partake in soundbar deals? You can mount those, too! Even if you are going for Black Friday gaming laptop deals, you might decide to mount a secondary monitor near your gaming desk so you can pop up a stream on the side when you are ready for an on-the-desk gaming sesh. Do you see what we mean? Seemingly anything you buy these days might have some mounting feature — and, yes, that includes vacuum cleaners — that you might wish to utilize. So, go ahead and shop these Black Friday power tool deals starting now.

DeWalt 20V Max Cordless Drill/Driver Kit — $99 $179 45% off
DeWalt really ups the game here on entry level battery-powered tool kits with this offering. In addition to the drill, you get a charger and two batteries. This makes for the perfect launching point for your DeWalt collection, making acquiring “tool only” (i.e. no battery) DeWalt power tool deals more accessible. It also just happens to be a great drill. Buy it now while it’s just $99.
Milwaukee M18 Inflator — $149 $310 52% off
This has consistently been one of our readers’ favorites and is a quick trunk throw-in for whatever vehicle you use most frequently. Please note that this does not come with a required Milwaukee M18 battery, so you’ll need to already be a Milwaukee devotee to use it. Alternatively, since you’re getting 52% off, you can use some of those savings to procure a battery yourself.
Bosch 18V 2-Tool Combo Kit — $165 $249 34% off
This kit gives you the Bosch basics for only $165 while this deal lasts. You’ll get a hammer drill/driver and a bit/socket impact driver/wrench, both with brushless motors, along with a carry bag, charger, and two Bosch 18V batteries. This is a good, premium brushless starter kit that should last you a long time.
DeWalt 20V Max 4-Tool Kit — $290 $339 14% off
This four part kit is a great way to get your essentials out of the way, and right now it’s under $300. In addition to a work bag, you get a drill/driver, impact driver, oscillating tool, and powerful 110 lumen LED work light, with two batteries for the equipment and a charger. Use one battery for the light and another for the drill/driver to get in those pesky dark nooks.
How to choose a power tool on Black Friday
Modern day wireless power tools have two primary components — the battery and the tool itself. Knowing this and the “game” around the marketing of these products is half the battle.
Start with the battery. Not all battery-powered tools come with a battery. Why? Because each brand has their own batteries that work with all their tools. Milwaukee batteries work with Milwaukee tools, Bosch batteries work with Bosch tools, etc. If you’re looking to get started with a brand, we recommend buying their drill kit first, as it usually has a battery and a pretty universal tool (a drill/driver).
If you’re wanting more tools, you have two choices. First, you can go big and get an expansive kit that includes multiple tools and a battery, possibly two. Alternatively, after you have the drill/driver base kit, look for “tool only” or “bare tool” deals that give you tools, but no additional batteries, to save more money.
How we chose these Black Friday power tool deals
The above deals were chosen for their accessibility (based on the battery/tool discussion in the preceding section), their price competitiveness, and of course the quality of the tool.
Another thing to remember is that brand matters when it comes to modern day cordless power tools, as batteries typically stay within their brand. As a result, we made sure to pull deals from multiple top brands.
